Nice Car Photo Studio photos

Daily Disney - Hollywood Studios Balloons at Dusk (Explored)

Well guys, I'm back from a 5 day trip to Walt Disney World. Although I took my camera with me, with the 50mm f/1.4 mounted on it at all times, I didn't really get all that many photo opportunities. It was a family trip and we were touring with another family that had never been to Disney World, so just not a ton of time for pictures. All in all, I brought home 803 RAW files. Probably only 1/3 of those are keepers and probably only a 1/3 of the keepers are pictures I'd post on Flickr. So that equals out to be around 87 pictures - hopefully enough to post one a day until our October trip. I feel like I really got to know my camera this trip and I played around with exposure compensation a lot and using only the 50mm really made me think about composition. I used the tilted composition a lot because everyone seems to be doing that these days, and also because sometimes I just seemed to close so sometimes by tilting the camera you can get more in the frame. I did get one night at the studios when everyone else went back to the hotel so I did pretty good there. There were so many times that I wish I had my tripod and a wider lens though. We stayed at Pop Century so I got a few decent pics there also.

All in all it was a fun trip... some highs and lows:

Highs:
-Like I said before, I got to know my camera pretty well.
-Discovered that the 50mm f/1.4 is an AWESOME lens for dark rides.
-We were able to do pretty much everything we wanted to do.
-Had a fun day at Cocoa Beach and heard (to cloudy to see) the space shuttle go off.
-Olivia rode all the attractions including Tower of Terror, Rock N Roller Coaster and Expedition Everest - and loved them all!
-Met up with my brother and his family for a day at the Magic Kingdom.

Lows:
-Man was it hot!
-Holy smokes it was crowded
-Pop Century (I'm not sure if I'll ever stay at a value resort with the family again)
-Bus transportation (I was on the fence, but I now know for sure that I'm a rental car guy)
-People Mover being closed. I can't tell you how many times I walked by wishing I could take a ride on the TTA.
-Missed out on experiencing the American Adventure because my family thinks it's boring.
-Totally blew it (photographing, again) Peter Pan's Flight.

1937 Jaguar SS 100
jaguar car photo
The Jaguar SS100 is a British 2-seat sports car built between 1936 and 1940 by SS Cars Ltd of Coventry, England. The last one is thought to have been delivered in 1941.

The SS Cars Ltd Model 100 "Jaguar" was so named as the '100' reflected the capability of the 3.5-litre model to exceed 100 mph - then a remarkable speed for a production vehicle. In common with many products of the thirties, the adoption of an animal name was deemed appropriate, and once approved by Bill Lyons the name "Jaguar" was given to a new saloon car in 1936, and from that point to all the cars. .

Following the Second World War, because of the connotations then attached to the initials ""SS", the company was renamed Jaguar in 1945.

(Wikipedia)

- - -

Advertiser's Blurb

The CCX is the latest iteration of the Koenigsegg CC family. The CCX is in many aspects a new car since it has been re-engineered to comply with the US regulation and market demands. Still, it has been a key issue for the Koenigsegg Team to keep the distinctive and record breaking CC shape. We believe it is important to avoid trends and instead hone the aerodynamic shape of the CC range for the future, only enhancing its unique look and appearance with tighter lines and a more aggressive stance. We also believe in continuity.

Arlington Memorial Bridge at Dusk - Washington, D.C.

Another three in one photograph.

From the banks of the of the Potomac River you can get a great view of the Arlington Memorial Bridge, The Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument all in one frame.

The Arlington Memorial Bridge not only links the state of Virginia with the District of Columbia, but also the Civil War era North and South.

On one end you have the Union’s Lincoln Memorial and across the Potomac on the Virginia side you have the Confederacy’s Robert E. Lee Memorial.

Some of you have commented on the recent watermarks on my photos. It’s there for a reason. People have been using my photos without my permission or compensation. If you want to use my photos please let me know and I would be more than happy to share them with you. Just drop me an email.

1934 - 1939 Mercedes-Benz W31 (Typ G4)
photo frame for car
The Mercedes-Benz W31 typ G4 was a German three-axle off-road vehicle first produced by Mercedes-Benz as a staff/command car for the Wehrmacht in 1934. The cars were designed as a seven-seater touring car or closed saloon and were mainly used by upper echelons of the Nazi regime in parades and inspections as they were deemed too expensive for general Army use.

The G4 was a development of the G1, launched in 1926. In the first three years of production they had an 8-cylinder inline engine of 5018 cc displacement delivering 100 PS (74 kW). An unsynchronized four-speed transmission transferred the power to all four rear wheels, or optionally to all six wheels. The rear wheels were attached to two rigid axles 950 mm apart, which were suspended in joint semi-elliptic leaf springs. The front axle was rigid with semi-elliptic springs. All six wheels had hydraulic brakes with servo assistance. The top speed was only 67 km/h (42 mph), limited by the type of all-terrain tyres. Only 11 of these vehicles were delivered to the Wehrmacht. The car used an elongated box-section frame that allowed for generous interior room with comfortable seating for up to 7. Seating was provided by two benches (front and rear) and one middle-placed row of seats with separate arm rests.

From 1937 a more powerful engine of 5252 cc and 115 PS (85 kW) was used. The performance remained the same. Between 1937 and 1938 16 cars were built.

From 1938 a larger motor of 5401 cc and 110 PS (81 kW) was used. Vehicles of this model were used by Adolf Hitler and his staff in parades marking the occupation of Austria and the annexation of the so-called residual Czech Republic. The last year of production was 1939. 30 cars of this model were built.

Greenwood Car Show 2009

1958 Cadillac Edlorado.

Hundreds of other great classics came out to the Greenwood Car Show this year. Unfortunately, a crowd of over 20,000 people meant taking photos of cars without someone cutting into the frame was nearly impossible, and I took very few photos because of this. Most cars had their hood up anyway, which makes for an unappealing car photo in my view.

I highly recommend this show, although I wish they would host it from 4:00pm until dusk and have a night cruise, rather than from 9:00am to 4:00pm with no cruise, as is currently the case.

Hint, hint.... (show organizers)
